Cake Smash πŸ–€

Hey, so I’ve decided to do a blog post on my cake smash which we did at home!

Seen as I was coming to the end of my maternity, and I took the full year off.. money has been tight! Which meant we had to do a cake smash on a budget, I just didn’t have the money to pay anyone else!

I’ve decided to show you all where we got our bits from.. and hopefully inspire you to try one yourself! I was SO impressed with the outcomes!

Okay so first off.. these decorations!! I mean seriously how amazing are they. Special Day Designs made my mint Mickey Mouse theme seriously come to life! She handmade all the decorations for me in this photo, and they honestly look amazing, I can’t thank her enough. I was stressing about not being organised and how I was ever going to manage pulling off a mint Mickey theme.. I couldn’t have done it without her! She even made those cute cupcake and cake topper. You can also find her on Instagram- Special Day Designs Insta πŸ–€ whatever theme you have, I’m telling you now she’s your girl. I love the plastic sign in the background too, definitely something I will be keeping forever!

Next up… the outfit.. all the heart eyes please! Let’s start with the super cute personalised bubble romper from Arabella and bear πŸ–€ we have soooo many clothes from her, and she does not disappoint! Everything is handmade and quite frankly made to perfection! There was not one doubt in my mind that she was going to make Freddie the best outfit ever.. and she did! If you ever order from her use code FREDDIE10 for a bit if discount (your welcome!!) her instagram is Arabellaandbear πŸ–€ Have a little sneak peak. You won’t regret it!

Freddie is then wearing some perfect I am one booties from Bibs and booties πŸ–€. Again these are handmade and just absolutely fantastic!! She can make booties for any occasion you could think of. She also has beautiful every day booties. Seen as Freddie is walking now these also have non slip soles! Check out her Instagram which is Bibsandbootiesuk πŸ–€.

Obviously I have to give a shoutout to this cake! Which was actually made by my mum, and decorated by my sister. I am absolutely rubbish at baking and anything creative.. so luckily they stepped in for me! And did such an amazing job as well. My mum even made the sponge of the cake mint colour. There was a cure little heart cake too.. but my brothers dog managed to get to that before the photos shoot!!

We were also gifted these amazing personalised cupcakes from bakerdays. If you haven’t checked out this website before.. I suggest you do! They deliver cakes to your door!! You can also get next day delivery as well. The cakes tasted amazing. And I love how they had the personalised touch to them! You can also order a letterbox cake which actually just fits through your letterbox! We’ve had one before and it was fab.. but this time went for 12 personalised cupcakes.

When it came to taking the actual photos, I was lucky enough to have an amazing friend with a really good camera who helped me out! One of the main things is to make sure the lighting is right. Obviously photos can be edited and brightened.. but if you get the lighting right in the first place, it means less faff, less editing and the overall image looks a lot clearer!

I got those wire lights from Primark too, and I feel they just gave such an amazing effect for the photo!

This blog post is wrote in collaboration with the Mother Hen Club! I am now a Mother Hen and will be creating blog posts for them πŸ–€ check them out on Instagram @motherhenclub or have a look at their website!! Mother Hen Club πŸ–€ It is an amazing place for mums and mums to be to offer them support and advice.
