I had absolutely no time to think about writing a blog post yesterday. I had a lovely family day, followed by a bit of me time! So I thought I would hop on and write it today (it’s only 1 day late).
First of all.. Happy Mother’s Day for yesterday all you lovely mums reading this! I hope you had the most amazing day, and we’re truly spoilt.
Obviously I have always celebrated Mother’s Day, and thanked my amazing mum for everything she does for me! But now I’m a mum myself the day has a whole new meaning to me. This wasn’t my first Mother’s Day, but I didn’t blog this time last year!
As much as Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate, I understand that for some people it may also be a very difficult day! Just remember, your not alone.. and it’s okay to talk about it and to tell people why Mother’s Day May be hard for you! I realise I am extremely lucky and forever grateful to have such an amazing mum in my life, and to have been given the chance to be a mum myself. I will NEVER take that for granted.
My day started with a lovely little lie in, although I was robbed of an hour with the clock changes! But I was still left until 10:30 which was pretty amazing! Sam then went to the local garage which do amazing bacon sandwiches and got me one of those when I was up!
We decided to keep it pretty low key, we knew that everywhere was going to be rammed for Sunday dinners! So we decided against that. So instead we decided to just all go for a nice walk together!
Before the walk started though, it was only right that we went and got ourselves an ice cream from the archers ice cream parlour that we passed!
It was absolutely AMAAAAAZING! And definitely worth breaking any kind of diet for! (My weekends are usually a write off for diets anyways).
It was so nice to let Freddie out the pram to roam around by himself! It was a lovely walk… the only issues we had was it was a popular walk for dog walkers. I have absolutely no problem with dogs at all! I love them, the issue was so does Freddie! So with every single dog he saw he also decided to follow them (majority seemed to be heading in the opposite direction to us). I had to keep redirecting Freddie the right way, which he protested about at first but was easily distracted again! Watching Freddie running, laughing and playing is just the best feeling ever!
We decided to have a pretty lazy/ easy tea, because I just wanted to spend as much time doing nothing as a family as possible! So chicken dippers and smiley faces it was!!
I then finished the day with some me time, the perfect day was finished with a candle lit bath using a bath bomb! It’s not often as a mum I have time for a bath, but I do enjoy them when I get a second!
I have to give a shout out to Sam for running around after me all day as well! He did amazing, and I’m so lucky to have him.
Being a mum is by far the harder most exhausting job, where you feel like you don’t really get a break! That’s why even one day in the year to just chill out, really does mean the world. I wouldn’t change a second of it though! I feel it’s given me the most amazing meaning and feeling in the world. It’s been a rollercoaster of a ride and adventure.. but I can’t wait to see where it takes us! watching him become his own person, seeing him happy thriving and learning.. all because of something I am doing!
